| FTA: "The findings by Harvard University researchers surprised doctors and health experts who have believed emergency room care was equitable."This is another drop in a sea of evidence that the uninsured fare much worse in their health in the United States," said senior author Dr. Atul Gawande, a Harvard surgeon and medical journalist."--Link to the study:http://archsurg.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/full/144/ ... |

“Well you see, it's 240,000 miles away. It's kinda like trying to look at a mole on the buttcheek of a Chinaman with your grandma's magnifying glass.

You are making one giant mistake, and I know, it is very hard to see what is really happening. What is the singlemost unifying trend in the last century, which is becoming more overwhelming and changing out lives more every year? Look closely and you will see - it is the gradual devaluation of human labour. Humans used to be pretty valuable, just afterr WW2, and we had a brief era of voter empowerment, but as we have so clearly seen - most of the world, especially the part that matters, is no longer subject to any kind of democratic control. While americans are literally starting to starve for lack of money, trillions of dollars are being printed into existence. In effect humans are becoming a end consideration - in mere years what counts is technology, energy sources and material resources. And not long after it will be just technology. If you don't believe me, read up on what nanotechnology and robotics stand to do to our societies in mere years.Rifkin, for all his idiotic blunders, had it right in "end of work". But the true picture she should have seen, was "the end of workers". Pretty soon all those billions of people will make not a iota of difference - those in control can develop, manufacture and consume pretty much anything consume whatever they want, without having to employ or even listen to all these voters. That will be the end of democracy, overnight.China nor the US have any shred of expectation in this regard - they know where this end game is headed, the question is only who the players will be holding the highest cards, and you can bet it sure as hell will not be the people on digg..
It's always better to leave the rationing of one of societies most precious resources in the hands of ill informed bureaucrats and corruptible politicians rather then just enacting basic reforms.!

I don't speak Portuguese, but I know the similar Spanish language, so I tried to translate the subtitles.Wait, wait a moment.Wait, wait, around here is a/the cobra. Are you scared? It's a beautiful cobra. Are you capable of (doing something) to this?Take it, (follow?)You saw how (easy?) it is to hit a cobra?(something) and better (something)They invade (your?) house.(something) how happy the snake is.I think they are speaking Spanish at the end, but it is too faint for me to hear something other than "wait" from the gut that got bit and some references to his arm.And no, I don't know why they are calling that snake a cobra.?
Between two ferns is absolutely genius comedy. |

I Picked up a Nishika N8000 (35mm film) 3D camera for about $10. That thing is a beast, I call it the soul stealer because of it's 4 lenses and size. It takes 4 half-frames over 2 35mm frames at the same time. This is what a scan looks like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jasmus/3561887023/in/ ...Free software can make the 1st and 4th frame into a 3D anaglyph. So much fun.

I wish I got the collector edition of Fallout 3. They didn't have the Xbox 360 version. 2 months later, I see the lunchbox edition for $60..but for PS3. I really wanted that bobblehead.
