Good question, it's their squeaky clean mentality way of doing business to be honest. Just trying to deal with them, they treat you like crap. Typical nerd that now thinks they're trendy stuff. It's hard to explain, but you can't deal with musicians and labels like you do corporate clients, we don't operate that way, we're not your average office workers. That's why we got into the creative business in the first place. To be honest I stopped talking to them two years ago and we now use a Digital aggregator who deals with that stuff for us. Most digital stores, Beatport, Juno etc. etc. at least you can talk to them as music lovers and give them say a percentage deal for exclusive front page spreads etc. With Apple it was just ( if you ever got a reply from them ) you do it our way, or you don't do it at all.I mean with the LP thing, even if we had that kind of money to spend, why in hell would we want to deal with a corporate sourced graphic designer, what possible creative input from a street level would somebody like that have. I'm not really interested in your qualifications or where you went to school, I want to know you went out getting ***** up in the clubs, listening to the music, or hung with a bunch of skaters or artists or creatives and you're bringing that to the table Monday morning as inspiration, not how you dug the coffee at ***** starbucks on the way to work. Different mentality... completely, couldn't deal with it.
I work for the USPS and I always make a point to ring the doorbell and wait around for usually more than reasonable amount of time (30 seconds to a minute, which is a lot when you have a schedule to keep). Then I check if your garage/car is unlocked, and if you're really that inconsiderate as to leave nowhere safe for your package, I'll usually leave it tucked somewhere on your porch. But if it's obviously about to rain/snow I'm almost forced to bring it back because I'm not a big enough douche to let your package get ruined by the elements.Although my UPS guy is pretty ballin, obviously the Postal Service is vastly superior.

That said it all for me...literally.?
Did I say I get my news from TDS? Didn't I allude to the fact that I've watched Lou Dobbs (meaning I watch CNN) from time to time? Luckily I live outside the US where I can get my news from the BBC and other REAL news networks where oppinutainment isn't the only thing on. |

I'm no huge royalist but the Queen does do a pretty good job as head of state, she never makes gaffes and doesn't cost us very much at all. She's has lived a luxurious and privileged life but has done her job faultlessly and tirelessly for as long as she has been tasked with it.There is the tourist draw too, if foreigners want to come and point at bucking-ham palace and get their picture taken with a soldier in a funny hat then that's fine, for the most part and for a long time now the monarchy have kept out of politics and I'm quite happy for them to remain and things to stay that way.
