Perhaps a kid from 4chan from 2 years ago, when Rickroll was still frequently posted.v3rtex, I am disappoint.
Since Wrath came out, there have been two ENORMOUS patches (with a third on the way) that have provided me and my guild with weeks of fun new content to tackle, there have been more new items, pets, mounts, and achievements added than I've been able to keep up with, there have been hundreds of new quests added, and all of that content has been included as part of my regular subscription fees. The two pets you can buy in their online store represent about 0.009% of the content that has been added to the game over the last year. MMOs are seriously about the least expensive hobby you can have. I've sunk thousands into restoring vintage cars, for instance, but I don't bitch and moan because I have to pay an extra $10 for fuzzy dice on top of that.

Re: "Actually, the funny thing here is how Electric Universe proponents try to use ridiculously complicated physics to explain something we understand pretty well with gas dynamics and Newton. You can try to use all sorts of electric fields and other methods, but bipolar structures like this one are pretty easy to make using good old fashioned disks and stellar outflow."Plasma physics is more complex than conventional astrophysics? That's an interesting idea. The Electric Universe suggests a way to dramatically simplify our observations of space. The HR stellar diagram can be derived directly from laboratory plasma physics principles; there is no need to rationalize stars that jump all over the stellar diagram. The inverse-temperature enigma at the Sun's corona follows *directly* from laboratory glow discharge experiments. Galactic rotation curves follow directly from the natural behavior of Birkeland Currents within the laboratory. Most -- if not all -- pulsars are nothing more than the flicker of Birkeland Currents connecting cosmic objects; we need not propose "new physics" that violate the Island of Stability to explain the most energetic pulsars. Dark matter is unnecessary within the EU; it simply results from the relative weakness of gravity. The heliosphere is nothing more than a plasma cell, protecting the Sun's electrical charge. The Earth's electric field is nothing more than the result of charge accumulation, as would occur within an electrodynamic system. The solar wind's enigmatic acceleration is nothing more than the result of the Sun's electric field. The universe is filamentary on all scales simply because that's what plasmas do within the laboratory. When we see magnetic fields associated with galaxies, we should immediately suspect that electric currents are causing them.None of this stuff is complicated, Phil. People just need to learn what plasmas are, and how they tend to behave within the laboratory. It would help a lot if you would stop confusing plasmas for gases, and start taking a more critical look at the models which you guys take for granted in simulating the cosmos. Why don't you start up an honest dialogue with Wal Thornhill, Anthony Peratt and Gerrit Verschuur? They will explain in great detail why you guys are wrong if you do not attack them. And if you will actually entertain the notion that you might have learned something which is not true while in college, for long enough to learn a new cosmology, in an open and non-confrontational non-debunking manner, not only could it set an amazing precedent for your peers, but your understanding of space and even philosophy of science will tremendously benefit. Why don't you try to learn the Electric Universe instead of trying to always argue against it? If your only goal is to debunk it, you will *never* learn it. You will never actually realize how wrong you are. You will never realize that all of your good intentions are in fact causing great harm to the advancement of science. You are merely blinding yourself to that which you already disagree, to the detriment of the entire world and the astrophysical community which you presumably love. Why are you so content to not challenge your beliefs? Doesn't a reporter have a higher duty to the public than his employer? Or, are you just a lobbyist for the dominant paradigm? Do you still care to ensure that your beliefs are true?Re: "Also? EU people don't seem to understand charge separation, as in, there isn't any in these plasmas. They don't seem to understand what overall neutral gas/plasma means."Did Nobel laureate, Hannes Alfven, not understand charge separation? What about former adviser to the Department of Energy, Anthony Peratt? If you were talking directly to Peratt, would you insinuate that *he* did not understand charge separation? You have to realize that the hostile environment which has been created towards these people on forums like Bad Astronomy and Universe Today by people like Leroy Ellenberger, Tom Bridgman, Tim Thompson, ScienceApologist and APODNereid has completely broken the lines of communications. And you unknowingly now take advantage of these broken lines of communications because people like Peratt have given up on trying to convince people like yourself, leaving people like myself to try to mop up. It may seem to you guys as though you have won the debate, but really you've just broken the lines of communications. If you were to actually sit down with Peratt, I'm sure it would be a devastating experience for you -- which is why I suspect that you would never try to do it. Why don't you challenge yourself and send Peratt an email? Challenge *HIM* to convince you, with the promise that if he does, you will change your tune ...!

Or being an Oakland fan in general, really.?
The advantage would be allowing you to reconfigure the array far more quickly, The drawback is that it would cost a huge amount without providing much benefit. As Strenoth mentioned, the precise placement is an issue: you would not do an observation while moving. They will have to be parked to the stability requirements.Cost: Those antennas weight about 100 tons each. Building 2 transporters for them was quite expensive. Building each antenna to drive around on its own would have cost a lot more. So the plan is to have a couple hundred antenna parking pads. Then you can move around a couple at a time, and have the rest observing. |

I worked in an ER and I don't necessarily trust the study. For one thing, if you come in after a serious car accident, or with a gunshot in bad shape...we don't GET your insurance info right away. The question isn't even asked to a person in unstable condition.I don't feel that you can jump from this study to a conclusion of, "uninisured people die because they don't have insurance."Another red flag...when someone comes in from a car accident...insurance is ASSUMED. My state requires auto insurance. Auto insurance covers injury.
