One thing to remember about our national debt is that most of it is owed-by AND owned-to our own citizens. That's not to say that I don't have concerns about our fiscal future. The biggest concern I have is how much we owe China & Japan. About 25% of our national debt is owed to other countries. Many of these countries have managed to exploit our so-called "Free trade" agreements by selling us goods but not buying anything back from us. That's why we have a $800 billion per year trade deficit. Frankly, I agree with Warren Buffet when I say that I'm more concerned about our trade deficit than our national debt. Our trade deficit is what made foreign ownership of our debts possible.
Healthcare could not be a more appropriate cause for "promoting the general welfare" of the US. With that sentence in the preamble, the constitution recognizes that the federal government may be best suited to provide for some elements of general welfare, and therefore delegates the power to the federal government. There is no 10th amendment violation. As far as requiring insurance, remember this: We can not turn a person away from a hospital for coverage. Therefore, if someone with no money and no insurance seeks care, it can not be refused. The cost of that treatment is borne by the hospital, and passed on in the form of higher prices for those with insurance. Nobody has given permission for this taking of property, therefore, our end result is theft from everyone else who pays for medical treatment. One could argue, then, that we should turn away poor people for treatment. This is a horrible and cruel view. As long as treatment can not be refused, and as long as said treatment should not be stolen from hospitals and those that pay for treatment, the balance between one's right to make their own decisions about insurance and the right of those paying for treatment to be free from theft is tipped in the favor of requiring insurance. You do not have a right to rely on others to pay for your inevitable care if you have the ability to do so yourself. If you do not, then help should be available. Emoluments Clause:In December of 2009, prior to becoming Secretary of State, the salary was reduced to pre-vote levels by congress. As there is now no raise in pay, there is no violation of the emolument clause. But then again, you probably knew that. If you didn't, I would check on your news sources to see why that was conveniently left out.Any more "violations" of the constitution you'd care to share?

You know the way most people kill themselves puts a huge burden on other people to clean up the mess they left behind, right? There will be a medical examination at the taxpayers expense, someone will have to clean up the physical mess, to say nothing about the emotional trauma suffered by whoever discovers the body. Now if its a foreign Country they now have a body they have to locate a family to dispose of, some of those families will not be able to be located or cannot or will not pay to have the body shipped back, so now the Swiss have to do something with it..
REMAKE... EVERYTHING!!

There should be an 'E' in PWNED. And he wasn't pwned, you were pwned because you were too busy being a douchebag and so you didn't get to meet Jon Stewart.?
To expand on glitch47's comments, here's a link to Adobe's Flash Player 10.1 release notes, giving a full list of GPUs that are supported:http://bit.ly/1S7ndHI imagine that support for GPUs will continue to grow, with each new Flash release, but this is the first round for Flash 10.1. |

The point isn't a valid one to propose that the government not run health care. In fact, the fact that a private company might have messed up the paperwork is actually fuel for government intervention. Why? Because god knows if the government was in charge and they messed up paperwork you all would be bitching about "this is what happens when you let the government take over where private companies should be dominant". I'm just using your logic back on you.

You're right. The world would be a much better place if all human beings ever did with their time was spreadsheets, Powerpoint and meetings with occasional breaks to clean sinks and mop floors. /s

" “Pigeon: Impossible”, a marvelous CG animated short by Lucas Martell. This was Lucas’ first attempt at animation, taking him 5 years to create the film."Makes it sound like he did it all himself which would be a major achievement. But when you see the end credits, loads of people worked on it. I hope they get the recognition they deserve too. |
