I'm in agreement here. If you've been using Ubuntu since 9.04, you should know these tricks. This article should be titled, "20 essential tips every Ubuntu user should already know, but if you don't use Ubunut yet, this is what you should read."Really long & breathy, but I think it could work.
SO Censorship is ok as long as you agree with whats being censored???

“Ugh. Horrible, *horrible* article. But an interesting illustration of the way different people are convinced by different things. It provides virtually no information on the technology even for the utter layman, and instead devotes itself almost entirely to establishing the proponent of the tech as a high-status and therefore to-be-agreed-with person - whose ideas must surely be terribly impressive, whatever they may actually be.Utterly depressing to realise just how many people think that way, and are far more satisfied with this approach than the merits of the idea itself.

The thing about Byrd is that was a long time ago - most recently, the late 40s. That's some 50 years since he was involved in that organization. He is not currently in the KKK, he is not currently spouting hate, and he has publicly apologized for his involvement. Beck and Limbaugh, on the other hand, are proud of their racism and spout it at every opportunity..

No, the dog realises that there is a relationship between it's antics and the attention it gets from it's trainers. Never underestimate the power of food rewards.?
I am willing to pay for good news. For instance, I donate to NPR on a yearly basis because I enjoy listening to their informative news shows on my drive to work. I am not willing to pay for most of what is shown on television and published by the major news broadcasters because their news is sh*t. I could not care less about balloon boy. |

I'm very intrigued to see how the 'blind digging' feature is going to work. I think if executed properly it could add a lot of value to the site, maybe if they're only able to digg from the FP, but I could also see it being disastrous if people are able to blind Bury stories....it's just seems that they'd be moving in a less transparent direction, and I thought Kevin was all about the importance of transparency. That being said, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the first half of next year. |
