They should be covered.You may disagree with the comparison, but regardless of the moral and practical arguments, at the end of the day it's still a hell of a lot easier to pass a health care bill without covering abortions, and the abortions aren't expensive enough to impact a typical person. However, how about we have a system where elective surgeries are "sorta" covered - each elective surgery becomes a loan you have to pay back over time?
The fact that people are actually burying this comment and digging the idiotic one above it is, in Digg's case, evidence of this comment's profound excellence.

At least they leave a note in your area we're sporting about 50% chance here. Hell the couple of times I have been at home they knock once and either don't deliver the package (even though we have a release for them to leave it at the office) or leave a note and walk off. Even if I'm calling after them.

There is abysmal proof to back that up. Yes healthy teeth are great, and everyone should brush twice daily, but look at some of the native Asian population which have rotted out teeth and live to be in excess of 100 years old. The biggest risk factor besides the obvious is genetics and the overall high consumption of fatty meats and the wrong oils. Any cardiologist that has a brain will tell you the same.!

If it's cheap enough, we'll all have access to it, then the population of the world will steady increase. If we solve the energy crises, or global warming, or any of the other myriad world-threatening issues that challenge us now, then we *shouldn't* starve. That would be too ironic - a burgeoning population of immortals starving to death due to dwindling resources.Chances are that the powers-that-be will just sit on this technology and just use it to reward their rich & powerful friends. You'd never get an immortal dictator out of power. The longer they live the more power and wealth they'll accumulate. Can you imagine an immortal Kim Jong-il?

I'm a gamer and I've never felt the need to use Wine in Ubuntu...at least for games since it usually doesn't work very well. I guess there was a time, way back when I started using Ubuntu (6.06) that the nVidia drivers worked great in Linux so I was able to play a certain few games really well in Wine, but ever since Windows has outperformed it so I just game in Windows. I do often use Wine to run a few Windows only apps though, mainly uTorrent and Realterm (a serial terminal, useful for microcontroller programming) since there are no Linux versions. |
