@TearlockWhoa-hoho there, buddy. "Never condoned rape and kidnapping," you say? Have you heard of Joseph Smith or Brigham Young? Was Smith killed by a lynch mob in Nauvroo because he wasn't kidnapping and raping little girls? I guess no one would name a university after the monster behind the Mountain Meadows Massacre (because BYU doesn't exist). Anyway- this is all beside the point. I wasn't attacking the atrocious history of the church. Nor am I willing to entertain the "no true Scotsman" argument. I think it's important that people know this religion, specifically the Mormon religion, played a significant and under-reported part of the kidnapping and rape. It both motivated the perpetrator and disempowered the victim. If I'm mistaken there, then correct me on that point, don't just call me an idiot and spout off unrelated fallacies.
Um. In the USA any mobile phone vendor has to get permission from the FCC to sell their products. It's the same thing.

“As a Colbert fan, I wanted that issue of the Newsweek he guest-edited. Walmart didn't have it...two local grocery chains didn't have it...Quik Trip didn't have it...I ended up having to go to Barnes and Noble to get it, and they had it, but only because they have magazines on EVERYTHING. When I have to go to the same place to find a magazine that "Knitting Monthly" enthusiasts have to resort to...well, they're in big trouble.

I wonder if Beck, Hannity, O'Reily, et al ever grab a cab? I'd almost be willing to lose the Daily Show to see Jon Stewart move into real news. If you watch his serious interview segments he clearly has the intellectual chops to become this generations Walter Cronkite.
