I've seen heart disease and emphysema severely impair and then kill several relatives. I will celebrate when these diseases no longer kill people.
The ***** up part (assuming the mother didn't kill her) is that the charges they have her up on won't get her the death penalty although she deserves it and should ***** die by firing squad.

“That's simply supply and demand because nVidia doesn't have anything out to compete with it.

Forget going to Mars or building fusion reactors, every scientist should be working on AI. Then after about 20 years when the AI can think 1,000,000 times faster than we can, it will do 1,000,000 years thinking in 1 year. All problems=solved..
I hadn't even missed it yet. I wonder how many people kept drinking the non-caffeinated Sparks and has no idea. Doh!!

In other news,a half-eaten mummified bacon-pastrami sandwich was found near the sarcophagus.?
I always wish I could work with one of these. I don't know if I could use 37k chips, but I probably could find a way.I wonder if this machine ever sleeps? It was pretty loud in there, I'm guessing that all the CPU's are being used all the time. And just as an observation; seems weird to cool the chips in that manner with such a flat plenum in each row, 4 per plenum. You'd think that the heat dissipation from the first chip would affect the efficiency of the last chip's cooling. |

A friend of mine has severe chronic Lyme disease, which has progressed so much that he recently had a seizure. He's been pretty desperate for help, and has been seeing a bunch of doctors who have prescribed him some sort of drug cocktail... He recently sent me this link to a state bill. If passed it would create a research facility specifically for Lyme disease and other related emerging/unknown diseases. The thing is, he was *against* it passing, as it was likely that his insurance company would then deny him coverage for his prescriptions as the cause of his condition would then be "unknown".So he now has 2 choices, but can't have both:- Allow research on it in order to *possibly* find a cure in who knows how many years- Stay with the mess of a drug cocktail and hope it worksSadly, issues like this have lead to things like this:http://www.nytimes.com/2001/06/17/magazine/17LYMED .../another-reason-we-need-healthcare-reform
