No Marilyn Manson? Really? He was the first guy I thought of when I read the title.
Not to mention that Three Mile Island's reactors were designed in the late 60's. Three Mile Island's facility had two reactors. The infamous accident was with Reactor 2. Reactor 1 is still running today. Yes, Three Mile Island is still running and producing electrical power today.I just have to ask, are you another one of those anti-tech morons? You know, like the ones that say the Manned Space program is just shoveling money into a rocket and shooting into space, or think that people shouldn't be risked in Manned Space? Or that the costs in building and repairing the LHC stole food from the mouths of half the children in the third world? Why is nuclear power bad? Because thirty-five years ago a movie told you it was. Helpful hint: Believe it or not, technology has progressed since the late 60's. Really. Nuclear reactor designs today are safer, cleaner and more efficient than most people believe. Solar is great, but the Sun doesn't always shine. Wind is great, but the wind doesn't always blow. We need to get rid of nasty dirty coal plants that produce more toxic substances than any nuclear plant currently running. If America is going to switch over from gas to electric for automobiles, then America needs to drastically increase the amount of available power in the grid. The grid needs to be overhauled anyway, but the amount of power pumping into it is not enough. Nuclear energy is the best solution to providing consistent clean cheap energy. Putting your fingers in your ears, closing your eyes, chanting "Hell no, we won't glow" because of poorly informed opinions based on something that happened almost 35 years ago is just stupid.

LMAO at the "eyes" picture. Yeah, everyone is looking at her eyes in that.?
Are you saying the facts reported are incorrect, or did you just dismiss the article because it makes you uncomfortable? |

You don't have to feel static electricity you can ruin something without even knowing it, by the time you feel the zap it's up to around 40,000V (or so my electronics professor, Mr. Sorenson, told me). Static can come from two surfaces rubbing together, it doesn't have to come from the floor, your shirt and coat rubbing together could do it.
